Top ten - Free diet tips

While there is much more to healthy dieting than a few tips, these ten free diet tips should help you laugh away a few pounds (What a great way to lose!). Hint: the tips are serious; the explanations are not.

Healthy Diet Tip 1:

Never eat before bed. This is just common sense. It is so much more fun to eat in bed.

Healthy Diet Tip 2:

Bake, don't fry. This is also common sense. Baking allows you to retain more friendships. When you bake in the sun, you get a nice tan and go for a dip in the pool to cool off with your friends. But when you fry, you get a sunburn and don't dare go in the shower for a week...which scares your friends away.

Healthy Diet Tip 3:

Drink five gallons of water before every meal. This will help you eat less during the meal. Let's face it, very few people can over-eat consistently while dashing to the bathroom.

Healthy Diet Tip 4:

Don't taste-test while you cook. Many cooks taste their dishes several times while cooking to make sure the flavor is just right. Over a lifetime, a typical cook might put on 13.4 pounds just taste-testing food that will eventually be taste-tested by the entire family – with sometimes entertaining results! (Remember that laughter is a great way to burn calories?)

Healthy Diet Tip 5:

Don't eat what your kids leave behind. Admit it, after your kids leave the table and are busy pinning the tail on the cat with epoxy glue, you gather up the food they leave on their plates. You just can't bear to throw it away because you know that there is enough to feed a small, famished African country. So you eat a "second supper" just out of guilt. How can you be so heartless?! Send the leftover food to that small, famished African country.

Healthy Diet Tip 6:

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches don't have all that many carbs, if you eat them in moderation. But stay away from those dreaded peanut butter and jellyfish sandwiches.

Healthy Diet Tip 7:

Blot your pizza to remove 17% of the saturate fats. If you blot it really well, you can remove 100%. Of course, an empty plate might require a spicier sauce...

Healthy Diet Tip 8:

No snacking in front of the TV. Get up. Right now. No snacking in front of my TV. I don't want crumbs on my living room carpet.

Healthy Diet Tip 9:

Schedule your exercise. It's true, if you don't schedule it, your exercise will get pushed aside by things you do schedule. I suggest scheduling it during office meetings, dental appointments and reality TV shows. You wouldn't want to miss anything important, would you?

Healthy Diet Tip 10:

This is a good one. Why, because #10 on any top-ten list is always a good one. Ten is a great number. So tip #10 is to celebrate every ten pounds lost by preparing a triple chocolate double-dip cheesecake supreme ice cream parfait deluxe. Go ahead and drool. You deserve it. And if you think preparing it is fun, just wait until you lose another 50 pounds ... and have permission to actually eat it.

I hope these free diet tips help you. On a serious note, most people will lose a significant amount of weight if they follow these ten healthy diet tips along with watching their calories, according to any popular healthy dieting plan. Well...almost. You might not want to follow tip 6. You will probably lose fewer pounds eating jelly than you would eating jellyfish.

What is a wheat-free diet?

A wheat-free diet involves cutting out all products made from wheat and wheat flour, such as bread. It is not the same as a gluten-free diet. On a wheat-free diet you just have to cut out wheat products alone, but on a gluten-free diet you must cut out all wheat, oats, barley and rye, because all of these foods contain gluten.

What foods are avoided?

Basic foods such as bread and pasta will need to be avoided, as well as any foods which contain wheat and wheat flour ingredients, such as some soups, sauces and other foods.

Are there any long-term problems with this diet?

It is not easy to completely eliminate wheat from the diet, but it is easier than eliminating gluten. There are also a variety of wheat-free products available from health food stores, and gluten-free foods will also by definition be suitable for a wheat-free diet.

Wheat is one of the most commonly mentioned foods when talking about food intolerances and IBS, and eliminating wheat from your diet may be a good place to start if you suspect your diet is causing your symptoms. However, it's important to consult a doctor or nutritionist if you intend to follow any kind of strict diet for a long period

Top ten Free Diet Tips

Diet tips 1:

Don't diet! Seriously. Severe caloric restriction causes metabolic slowdown. Very soon your body will have adapted to your reduced caloric intake, and dieting will have no effect at all! Although it seems contradictory, drastically reducing your caloric intake will not help your weight loss efforts.

Diet tips 2:

Only "moderately" reduce calories. Your bodyweight times ten in calories is a good place to start. Moderate caloric reduction is an essential element of successful weight loss.

Diet tips 3:

Eat six small BALANCED meals a day. This is difficult to do because it's hard to find the time necessary to accomplish this (for help, read my meal replacements article). Nonetheless, this is essential to the success of your weight loss program. Eating many small meals ensures blood sugar levels are stabilized, and food eaten is more likely to be used as energy than to be stored as fat. It will also help boost your metabolism.

Diet tips 4:

Try a chromium supplement. Try 200 mcg three times a day before meals. Chromium helps increase the efficiency of insulin. Supplementing with chromium may decrease cravings for junk food, and ultimately lead to weight loss. Other useful glucose moderators include green tea, alpha lipoic acid, and vanadyl sulphate.

Diet tips 5:

Remove simple carbohydrates from your diet - these include sweets, pastas, bread and buns, breakfast cereals, potatoes, muffins, fruits like bananas, and vegetables like carrots and corn. These "high-glycemic" carbohydrates are the ones that raise blood sugar levels very quickly, causing an "over-release" of insulin, and ultimately, fat storage.

Diet tips 6:

Replace simple carbohydrates with high-fiber fruits and vegetables. Fruits (like apples), and leafy vegetables high in natural fibers take much longer to be broken down and converted into glucose by the body. Thus, their consumption is much less likely to result in increased weight gain.

Diet tips 7:

Make sure all meals and snacks include at least as much lean protein as carbohydrates. Some good lean protein sources are chicken, turkey, and fish.

Diet tips 8:

Include a good source of Essential Fatty Acids in your diet. The best way to ensure this is to buy some at your local health food store. Make sure the brand is stored in the fridge, and formulated without the presence of heat, light, or oxygen. Udo's Ultimate Oil Blend by Flora Health is a good formulation. You may also wish to supplement your diet with occasional servings of fish.

Diet tips 9:

Exercise between 3-5 times a week, for a minimum of 20 minutes per session. Exercise is a fantastic way to increase calorie burn, and boost metabolism. Remember, exercise need not be hell in order for it to be effective. If you wish, you may start simply with a brisk walk each morning. Others may find stationary bicycles and treadmills to be effective.

Diet tips 10:

At least once a week, eat whatever you want. Life is short, and food is good, so allow yourself a meal of wild abandon once in a while. You'll find it much easier to stick to a meal plan if you know you can reward yourself occasionally without feeling guilty!
